Wish that Valtrex was developed way back then

I used to work in a center which helped people deal with STDs or sexually transmitted diseases and you would not believe how rampant this diseases are and just how many are actually affected, ranging from simple infections down to the most severe of cases, even AIDS, which can stick to you for your lifetime. One of the most dreaded of these is Herpes and I can really relate to this one because I had a older brother who suffered from this condition. When I was young around 7 years old, he was already 18 as we had a 12 year gap in our age and he was really into the hippie thing back in the 70s and I think that is the time he got this condition and he really suffered from it as back then there were very little drugs used to treat this condition and he suffered really and was depressed so much which lead to the deterioration of his health and eventually passed away in 1992, at 38 years old only. I think that affected my outlook on people with this condition that is why I ended up working for that center for some years. Now that there are drugs that can treat herpes like Valtrex which is one of the most effective ones to treat the symptoms but not exactly cure it as I said, Herpes is an incurable disease at the moment. I just hoped this drug was available back then as this could have at least alleviated my brother’s condition and lessened his depression. Now I am really hoping for a cure for herpes as I know there are now a lot of more young men and women who can benefit from such a medication if it were to be developed.
